Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join the Engineering Department at a top company in the industrial sector based in Medicine Hat. As a key member reporting to the Chief Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering engineering and project management services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from start to finish, including FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and project closure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project completion and implementation.
  • Plan, organize, and control costs for approved projects, such as replacements, sustainment, and improvements.
  • Provide technical support during field installations and plant turnarounds.
  • Develop cost estimates for various project budgets.
  • Create equipment fabrication specifications in line with regulations.
  • Work closely with vendors, consultants, and internal/external contacts for project success.
  • Utilize industry-standard project management principles.
  • Offer technical engineering support to other site teams.
  • Act as the primary site contact for external contractors, ensuring compliance with the Contractor Management Program.
  • Lead projects valued up to $150M.
Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Significant Project Engineer experience with an active P.ENG license.
  • Experience with Piping projects in an industrial setting, including process pipe designs, vessel designs, heat exchangers, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of codes and compressor interface: CSA B51, ASME Code Section I, VIII, IX, B31.1 & B31.3.
  • Demonstrated leadership in People Leadership, Results Leadership, Thought Leadership, and Self Leadership.
  • Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify and implement solutions.
  • Capability to coach and train others through collaboration and technical advice.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, acknowledging personal knowledge boundaries.
