Position Summary

The Critical Care Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers that pave the way for future business opportunities. This role aims to boost profitability and broaden existing accounts by selling ICU Medical products and expanding connections into new areas with fresh accounts. Preferred candidate resides in S. Phil or S. NJ - Territory covers: S. NJ, E.PA, DE, E.MD

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achieve territory sales targets for ICU Medical, Inc. Critical Care product line, encompassing various hemodynamic monitoring technologies, devices, and systems, vascular and cardiac catheters and sensor systems, closed blood sampling systems, custom angiography and interventional radiology kits, Level 1 Temperature Management, Pain Management Products, and Portex Anesthesia Airway.
  • Master presentation skills and possess in-depth technical knowledge of the ICU family of products to effectively communicate the clinical benefits to Hospital Clinicians. Proficiency in hemodynamic patient monitoring, temperature management, and pain management is essential.
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of competitors' products in the market and how to position ICU Medical's offerings against them from a clinical perspective. Act as the clinical expert/consultative troubleshooter at the field level for clinical and supply chain contacts.
  • Familiarize yourself with the assigned territory and customer base, contracts, competitive products, distribution models, etc.
  • Conduct trials and implementation of all ICU Medical Critical Care products.
  • Gain insights into your market and the clinicians in the market through local ASA, SCCM, AACN, and AAMI chapters.
  • Collaborate with managers and align sales efforts with company and regional targets.
  • Occasionally work during weekends/nights, when required.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Critical Care and Anesthesia medical device sales is a must.
  • Demonstrate a strategic mindset with the capability to formulate and implement a business plan to enhance market share at strategic accounts that significantly impact specification decisions within the clinical community.
  • Show proven results in driving sales growth and achieving outcomes through process-oriented data-driven continuous improvement tools and methods.
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic, professional, and capable of executing job responsibilities with minimal oversight.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation skills to tailor the ICU Medical Critical Care value proposition to various decision makers.
  • Strong organizational abilities and adept at multitasking.
  • Proficient in computer skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical device sales.
  • Background in Anesthesia or Critical Care products is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting quota/growth in the territory and developing relationships with Supply Chain.
  • Active compliance with all credentialing requirements, including COVID-19 vaccination, is necessary to fulfill the essential functions of the role at customer locations.

Work Environment

  • This position involves field-based responsibilities.
  • Work can take place in a home office using standard office equipment, as well as on-site at customer locations.
  • While performing job duties, the employee may need to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; depending on customer needs.
  • As part of the job scope, the employee must possess a valid driver's license and adhere to the Authorized Driver Policy to drive on behalf of the company.
  • Travel requirement exceeds 50% of the time.
  • Display a strategic mindset with the ability to create and execute a business strategy to enhance market share at pivotal accounts that hold significant influence on specification decisions within the clinical community.
  • Demonstrate the capability to drive sales growth and deliver outcomes through process-driven continuous improvement tools and methods.
  • Possess outstanding communication skills to adapt and convey the value proposition of ICU Medical Critical Care to a diverse range of decision makers.
