Position Summary


The Swamper is responsible for assisting the driver with all duties related to loading and unloading the truck, as well as providing the driver with assistance with all other duties related to transporting freight.

Work closely with drivers to secure and verify the cargo, ensure proper weight distribution, and conduct pre-trip inspections to confirm equipment readiness.

What you will do

  • Reads maps and gives the truck driver the most efficient directions to the destination, alongside safely directing parking and backing up.
  • Collects and transports deliveries from warehouse to designated stores and customers.
  • Assists the truck driver in monitoring and servicing truck for proper operation, daily, informing the dispatcher or transportation manager of necessary repairs or safety hazards.
  • Inspect cargo for damage, discrepancies, or irregularities, reporting any issues to the driver or supervisor.

What You'll Bring

  • 6 months up to 1 year
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry approximately 40 kilograms / 90 pounds
  • Flexibility in working both early and late shifts as well as weekends
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Less than High School, but has basic reading, communication and arithmetic skills to follow direction
  • Training will be provided

  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 90 lbs., with assistance, regularly
