Sarnia, Ontario, Canada Lambton College Full time

This is a temporary part-time role in the bargaining unit, working 6 hours per week on Tuesday & Wednesday from 2pm - 5pm.

Start date is May 2, 2023 and runs for 8 weeks. The course will be centered around Applied Drawing Interpretation and Joint Design and Welding Symbols.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for providing academic leadership and for encouraging an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and utilizing appropriate learning materials.
  • Expected to support student learning and progress, as well as evaluate assessments and student achievement.
  • Keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of these positions.
  • Champion the design of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with the local demand.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants must possess a Certificate of Qualification as a journeyperson in Welding trades or a related and relevant postsecondary diploma with industrial welding certificates.
  • Must have a solid understanding of welding blueprints
  • Teaching or training, industry experience and the desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
  • Ability to be an effective role model in an educational setting and function effectively in a team environment.
  • Passionate about teaching and will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student engagement, scholarly activity, and campus citizenship.
  • Think broadly, celebrate diversity of thought, and respect the uniqueness of individuals.
