Department Overview


The
Transformation, Enablement, and Customer Experience (TECE), Central Services team offers business management support to TECE businesses including communications, premises, real-estate, vendor management, access management, and more.

Included in TECE Central Services, the Colleague Communications & Engagement team, provides a wide range of support to select TECE businesses including colleague facing communications, events management and consultation, and employee engagement activities (e.g., Reward & Recognition, etc.).

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a substantial knowledge for the position of
Communication Specialist.

In this role, you will:

  • Understand key business partners' objectives, direction, and ongoing initiatives and advise the leadership teams on appropriate communication strategies and tactics.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with key business partners to coordinate all colleague communication activities and project deliverables.
  • Develop/manage the execution of internal colleague communications including implementation of a centralized TECE SharePoint.
  • Develop and implement a process for coordinating, prioritizing, and distributing all broad colleague communications, utilizing appropriate delivery channels.
  • Contribute to setting up content standards for internal communication channels and various mediums by partnering with other key stakeholders
  • Manage assigned projects from scoping to launch, following established processes, privacy processes, and brand standards.
  • Participate in project scoping and preplanning sessions, proactively providing partners with advice and expertise on recommended tactics and solutions.
  • Provide ongoing communication to ensure appropriate stakeholders are notified of progress or changes in content, direction, timeline, or status and escalate as appropriate.
  • Proactively acknowledge errors; notify management promptly where appropriate, and work with team to resolve.
  • Exercise judgment in dealing with sensitive reputational issues.
  • Drive leadingedge use of visual media: video, photography, interactive digital features, and infographics, to tell TD's stories in compelling, engaging, and immediate ways.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  • Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques.
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team.
  • Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Identifies and leads problem resolution where required, to operate efficiently.
  • Indepth knowledge / expertise in communication domain / field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas.
  • Applies best practices to implement process, product, or service improvements.
