The chosen applicant will be tasked with expanding business within their designated accounts in Toronto. To excel in this role, one must establish credibility, foster trusted relationships, gain comprehensive knowledge of end users' systems and objectives to spot significant opportunities. This sector is demanding and competitive, requiring the ideal candidate to be decisive and strategic in targeting opportunities, managing time efficiently, engaging with end users, contractors, and engineering consultants, and keeping a high level of expertise across a wide range of technical products. The challenge and potential of this position are interconnected.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of driving sales in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain a business plan aligning with company goals, including annual sales projections and account objectives, maintaining a top account list based on volume, growth potential, and tailored plans for each account.
  • Discover new leads through networking, participation in industry events, and hosting product demos.
  • Become a Preston Phipps product expert, understanding their applications and how they optimize client systems.
  • Educate end users, contractors, and consultants on selecting the right equipment to enhance systems.
  • Provide training on product selection, application, and system optimization.
  • Establish a network of end users, consultants, and contractors, identifying key decision-makers.
  • Strengthen relationships with Preston Phipps partners and divisions to enhance technical resources.
  • Collaborate with other managers to expand accounts.
  • Effectively manage sales funnel by prioritizing accounts, projects, and prospects for short and medium-term growth.
  • Prioritize face-to-face meetings with clients.
  • Lead bid and spec projects specified by engineers.
  • Document projects for handover to the project delivery team.
  • Maintain CRM data with contacts, pipeline, opportunities, and forecasts.
  • Share insights on competitors, market trends, and industry developments with the leadership team.
  • Participate in sales meetings to provide updates on quotes, orders, and territory progress.

Qualifications

  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in HVAC, hydronics, industrial, laboratory, or controls.
  • 5-10 years in outside sales and account management.
  • Proficiency in sales processes and customer service.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project tracking skills.
  • Dedication to driving sales and actively engaging in the territory.
  • Disciplined, motivated, and professional with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent technical acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
