JOB SUMMARY

Provides a solid property maintenance knowledge. Responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection. Manages the budget, capital projects, preventive maintenance, and energy conservation. Develops strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed guest and employee expectations, while maximizing financial performance. Ensures compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for facility issues.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 6 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related field; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
  • OR
  • 2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related field; 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related area; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIESManaging Engineering Operations and Budgets
  1. Collaborates with property and regional engineering team to assess Engineering performance against budget and identifies areas of concern.
  2. Oversees the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems following SOPs.
  3. Manages service contracts to support property requirements.
  4. Ensures the fire crew is familiar with all procedures, equipment, and alarms.
  5. Guides engineering team to efficiently handle expenses.
Maintaining Engineering Standards
  • Ensures adherence to regulations at all levels.
  • Maintains property life safety systems like fire equipment and alarm systems.
  • Keeps building and equipment licenses up to date.
  • Enforces fair and consistent administration of property policies.
Managing Profitability
  1. Controls operation expenses to meet or surpass budgeted targets.
  2. Supervises the payroll function.
  3. Manages controllable expenses to exceed budget goals.
  4. Participates in developing department's capital expenditure goals and manages projects as required.
  5. Contributes to the budgeting process for accountable areas.
Conducting Human Resources Activities
  • Ensures equitable treatment of employees.
  • Completes disciplinary procedures per SOPs and supports the Peer Review Process.
  • Uses an "open door" policy and employee feedback to address concerns promptly.
  • Resolves guest issues and complaints.
