What You Will Do
Routine Cleaning Services and Activities

  • Spot vacuum offices as needed.
  • Wipe down phone handsets and chair arms as required.
  • Dust or wipe windowsills as required.
  • Ensure horizontal surfaces are clean and free of marks, dust, dirt, and other residues in offices, meeting rooms and boardrooms.
  • Empty trash containers and recycle bins into the appropriate waste bins and ensure that receptacles are kept clean and free of smell.
  • Dust/mop/vacuum hard surface floors and stairways.
  • Vacuum high traffic areas with beater bar as needed.
  • Strip, scrub and wax all hard surface floors and stairways as necessary.
  • Ensure common areas are neat, tidy, free of litter and chairs are arranged appropriately.
  • Clean and sanitize entry door handles including access buttons, as required.
  • Ensure all partitions, doors, doorknobs and walls are clean, sanitized, and free of smudges, marks, splatters and other residues.
  • Clean aisle ways in front of washrooms. Mop, wipe down any residue on walls or doors.
  • Clean all glass in entrances as necessary.
  • Ensure countertops in all kitchens and kitchenettes are clean, neat and tidy.
Security

  • Ensure exterior buildings are locked and armed at the end of each business day.
  • Ensure the building is secure by inspecting doors and windows. Report any vandalism and loiterers in and outside of the building.
  • Ensure office and floor doors are locked after the areas have been cleaned.
  • Ensure all lights have been turned off and the building security system is armed on completion of the shift.
General

  • Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times by utilizing wet floor signage, using the available personal protective equipment (PPE) and abiding by WHMIS regulations.
  • Return cleaning carts, equipment and supplies to appropriate stations.
  • Clean and maintain cleaning equipment.
  • Communicate any damage to fixtures, doors, walls and equipment to the Manager.
  • Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for various functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties to promote the appearance of clean and wellkept facilities as requested by staff or the Facilities Manager.

What You Will Bring

  • A high school diploma plus knowledge of and familiarity with cleaning products, methods and practices and 12 years of related experience.
  • Ability to effectively operate and maintain various cleaning equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect for the values, opinions, needs and beliefs of staff, members, tenants and the public.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to identify hazards and take corrective action.
