About the opportunity:

We're looking for a passionate Electronic Developer to help us improve and sustain our electronic systems for professional video projection and LED display systems. You will be a key member of the electrical team using your expertise and experience to identify problems and implement improvements to our production processes and our existing product base.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system and board-level debugging with a focus on identifying root cause
  • Implement circuit-level changes into production boards to improve quality or performance
  • Design small circuits and create schematics in Cadence workflow
  • Review PCB layout for your designs with a focus on cost and manufacturability
  • Generate Engineering Change Orders to support product sustaining activities
  • Create harness specifications and associated drawings
  • Prepare engineering test reports that detail circuit or system performance
  • Provide field support for existing Christie Digital products
  • Support onsite manufacturing

Location:Hybrid position based in Kitchener, ON

The experience and skills we value:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field of study
  • Three or more years of experience working with electronics
  • An ability to relentlessly focus on issues to find the root cause of failures
  • Experience working with manufacturing to debug issues and generate yield improvements
  • Proficient using lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and power supplies
  • An understanding of the printed circuit board manufacturing process and testing methods
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • A motivated team player with experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

What will put you ahead:

  • Capable of schematic entry using Cadence Capture or similar software
  • Experience reworking fine pitch components on printed circuit boards
  • In possession of or working towards a P.Eng. license
