  • Preparing for clinical transformation through the implementation of a new health information system (HIS) requires a dedicated team that brings together clinical and Digital expertise. We are excited to share an initial set of job opportunities to support this significant project._

The position

Here's what you'll get to do

Principal responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage/Coordinate the HL7 interface work between 3rd party systems and the new HIS through the entire HIS implementation project
  • Update and accurately maintain the monitoring and tracking system of the HL7 interface work
  • Work closely with the Team Lead
  • Interface Team, to lead, manage and prioritize the workload for the interface team
  • Manage and mitigate risks of the HL7 interface work and escalate when necessary
  • Coordinate with the various third party system vendors and project teams to ensure timelines are met and issues are dealt with
  • Update the project leadership team on progress, issues, and risks on a regular basis
  • Manage team meetings, documenting decisions and action items

Here's what you need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited institution is required;
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in managing HL7 interface implementation
  • Strong technical expertise in the implementation of Epic integrations with HL7 interfaces
  • Strong leadership skills to lead teams in a large acute care and academic hospital
  • Demonstrated management in a complex environment with effective interpersonal and negotiations skills including outstanding written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in Healthcare IT an asset
  • Experience with HIS implementation is an asset
  • PMP Certification is an asset
