Qualifications and/or Assets:

Experience teaching in an elementary classroom setting is considered an asset

Strong knowledge and ability to effectively implement literacy and numeracy instructional strategies

Ability to vary instructional strategies to effectively meet a wide range of individual needs and abilities

Strong interpersonal skills; able to provide direction for an EA and create individual student programs in collaboration with an EA

Willingness to work in a team-orientated learning environment and be a positive team member

Assessment literate

Effective classroom management that facilitates safe, caring, and inclusive spaces for all students

Knowledge of Power Teacher would be considered an asset

Ability to effectively integrate technology and 21st Century Learning Skills with an early education perspective

Commitment to ongoing professional growth

Beginning teachers who will have graduated by May 2024, are welcome and encouraged to apply
