What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • prepare branch budget estimates, monitor in-year expenditures, reconcile expenditure reports, provide financial systems input and prepare regular budget reports
- prepare materials requested by the director and senior staff (e.g. briefing notes, memoranda, correspondence, reports, tables, briefing slide decks)
- manage the director's calendar and coordinate administrative activities for the director including reviewing and prioritizing all incoming material and identifying and segregating matters for the director's attention
- provide human resource services including preparing forms, maintaining personnel files and preparing recruitment files and documents

How do I qualify?:

Administrative Knowledge and Skills:

  • You have knowledge of administrative principles and practices to provide assistance and coordination of administrative activities for the branch.
  • You have knowledge of administration of sensitive and confidential information and are able to recommend and implement administrative procedures and oversee accommodation requirements.
  • You have the ability to understand divisional and branch priorities and roles/responsibilities to effectively liaise on behalf of the director to exchange information, communicate direction and expedite activities.

Financial Knowledge:

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of budget and accounting procedures, practices and information systems to prepare budget estimates, identify expenditure problems, reconcile reports and provide financial systems input.
  • You have an understanding of program financial management including the monitoring of revenue and expenditures, processing invoices and analyzing inyear and outyear requirements.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

  • You can use your relationship building and advisory skills to respond to inquiries and provide information.
  • You have oral and written communication skills to prepare reports, draft correspondence, and liaise with internal and external contacts.
  • You have the ability to provide solutionsfocused customer service in a timely and collaborative manner with division staff and senior management.

Organizational, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • You have demonstrated organizational, analytical and problemsolving skills to coordinate, implement, manage and prioritize multiple/concurrent tasks.
  • You can identify expenditure issues and present options to decisionmakers.
