Toronto, Ontario, Canada Armour Transportation Systems Full time

Armour Transportation Systems is currently seeking a Quebec Cartage Fleet Manager to join our team in Moncton, New Brunswick. Reporting to Longhaul Operations Manager of our Longhaul Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for Managing a fleet of company drivers, owner operators and 3rd party carriers. Managing a fleet of 35-45 company and owner-operator trucks and coordinating the safe and timely movement of all freight into and out of Atlantic Canada.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage driver relationships within the Longhaul Fleet, fostering an environment of trust, open communication, and accountability.
  • Work with all departments and terminals to eliminate barriers in the movement of equipment and freight to maximize usage and minimize cost.
  • Work with Armour's Recruitment Team to enhance idle-time management of the Longhaul Fleet.
  • Ensure the Longhaul Fleet remains compliant with all safety and training requirements.
  • Prepare reports on performance, customers, and employees to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Work with the General Manager, Longhaul Division, to forecast equipment and staffing needs based on volumes and customer demand.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for longhaul customer service inquiries.

Education and Experience Criteria:

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the transportation and logistics industry or a related field, or a combination of relevant work experience and education. For example, CITT Supply Chain and Logistics Certification or other relevant college degree or certification.

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a dispatch role.

Previous experience supervising others is considered an asset.

Knowledge of the road transportation industry, including Atlantic Canadian geography and travel times, is considered an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Computer literacy and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office are required.
  • Experience and understanding of the TruckMate system are considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven terminal/office environment.
  • Ability to work variable shifts when required (days, nights, weekends, holidays) and longer shifts to cover gaps.
  • There is a high volume of communication via email, phone, and satellite.
