Job Description

This senior role is in charge of maintaining and repairing all Farm Boy Stores, covering mechanical equipment, building fixtures, and assets. The focus is on delivering a high-quality service to employees, customers, and suppliers, following the Farm Boy Way.

Key Responsabilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of stores, addressing repair and maintenance tasks like fixing loose panels/trim, repairing shopping carts, compactor cleaning, drywall repairs, painting, and window cleaning.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair commercial equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Promote process improvement initiatives for enhanced machine/system reliability and performance.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs, conduct maintenance tasks, and replace or repair defective parts for optimal system performance.
  • Execute assigned preventative maintenance tasks and close work orders.
  • Perform scheduled repairs and installations, assist in store setups, and handle parts procurement.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed and operate power equipment.
  • Perform general construction tasks, create organized daily/weekly work plans, and work at heights if necessary.
  • Undertake related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field and 3+ years experience in building/residential repair or equivalent.
  • Valid Certificates of Qualification in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related areas are advantageous.
  • Prior experience in general contracting and equipment maintenance is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Refrigeration work.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, with a valid driver's license, and excellent work ethic.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools and power equipment certification.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Work Environment:

  • May require wearing protective gear and exposure to environmental elements like dirt, dust, extreme temperatures, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Lifting and handling heavy objects may be necessary.
