Programs & Services Coordinator, Student Life


Reporting to the Manager, Student Life, the Programs & Services Coordinator, Student Life will support the ongoing development and implementation of the business priorities as set out in the Student Life business plan as it relates to student leadership development, co-curricular engagement and orientation & transition.

The incumbents will facilitate programming that utilizes principles of universal design for learning to support learning outcomes related to student success in these areas and the continued cultivation of a strong student engagement and student leader culture college-wide.


The incumbent will take the lead on camper relations for the Mohawk Student Leadership academy, coordinating and delivering apprenticeship and post-secondary orientation, transition, and engagement programming, and support the Gathering place to ensure office coverage and positive coordination of the space.


This position supports campus tour programming; supports Campus to Community volunteer opportunities; supports campus specific events and awareness weeks; and coordinates Student Life Services including but not limited to student housing help, volunteer opportunity promotion, posting, general information provision.

Flexible working hours are required, including evenings and weekends.

Program Support

Providing co-curricular opportunities and consistently working to enhance student and staff/faculty engagement with the Co-Curricular Record

  • Coordinating experiential learning opportunities for Student Leaders
  • Supporting Student Life's overall leadership development strategy for the Student Leadership Development Series and the Mohawk Student Leadership Academy
  • Coordinating and delivering orientation & transition programming for new students
  • Collaborating with the Manager, Student Life to coordinate and implement a student communications plan for Student Life initiatives, which includes a focus on Student Leader/MoCrew engagement.
  • Acting as campus liaison for the Celebration of Learning
  • Coordinating Student Life services including but not limited to: student housing help, volunteer opportunity promotion, posting, general information, providing transportation information, supporting Student Appreciation Days, supporting and awareness weeks
  • Adhering to principles of universal design for learning and demonstrating understanding of intercultural competencies, commitment to equity an inclusion, and compliance with AODA guidelines
  • Engaging student staff and volunteers in Student Life programs and activities and providing functional guidance
  • Collaborating with marketing and other internal/external stakeholders to produce event and marketing collateral
  • Coordinating and delivering high quality orientation and transition programming for new students
  • Acting as campus liaisons for the Celebration of Learning
  • Assists Supervisor with conducting regular needs assessments to evaluate student offerings; make recommendations for changes/improvements
  • Providing functional guidance to CSEP students

Reporting

Provides post-event reports for all regular Student Life events and initiatives

  • Captures details of each planned event including attendance, marketing, planning time and direct student feedback
  • Reports and documents statistical information from all initiatives
  • Provides input into post event/program debriefs to enhance student experience
