Our bakery department touches the lives of our customers each and every day by providing daily essentials such as fresh bread or creating that perfect cake for a special occasion.

Typical duties involve production of baked goods, decorating, packaging, cleaning, and assisting customers as needed.

Start Rate:
$ $20.90 depending on length of experience.

All Round Baker - Jobber

  • Travelling to different facilities throughout the lower mainland.
  • Reliable transportation is required

Experience
Two to three years working in bakery production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
  • Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
  • Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
  • Use of mixer and commercial oven
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of bakery equipment
  • Order writing
  • Daily production of baked goods
  • Receiving and rotating of baked product
  • Filling Bakery showcases
  • Dependable, consciences and punctual

  • Maintain a clean and safe working area as per Company requirements
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Frequent hand coordination, bending pushing, pulling and twisting
  • Occasional lifting of between 2050 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
  • Constant standing, walking, gripping, reaching
  • Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health & Safety, corporate policies and other programs and initiatives

Join our Bakery Float staff and travel to our Safeway store bakeries throughout the Lower Mainland working relief hours.
