Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr.

Victoria Lee, the
Vice President (VP) of Professional Practice, Quality, Learning, and Research drives forward positive health outcomes integral to the quality, safety, and standardization of practice and care.

With a focus on seamless systems integration and patient experience initiatives, the Vice President will build awareness, teamwork and engagement to maximize the success of FH services, operations and its' people.

The Vice President will oversee a thriving portfolio of Quality and Patient Safety, Clinical Quality and Strategic Priorities, Professional Practice (Nursing and Allied Health) and Learning and Research.


As a clear, caring, and courageous leader in an organization that is evidence-based and results oriented, the Vice President of Professional Practice, Quality, Learning, and Research will ensure high standards of practice are set and maintained for programs and operations across the Fraser Health Region.

Innovation and strategy will be essential components of the Vice President's progressive and knowledge-based approach to ensuring the journey through our health care system is both high quality and seamless for patients, families, residents, and clients.

The Vice President will be a true thought leader who oversees the design, integration, and operation of programs and services toward the continued and strengthened provision of Seamless Care.


By working with leaders to identify policies, leadership, and infrastructure that create and sustain an environment supporting patient-centeredness, the Vice President will cultivate linkages with community, regional, and provincial partners and will advance population specific health initiatives that serve the needs of all health populations.

The Vice President will work with vision and drive to set and achieve comprehensive goals and outcomes of the Strategic Operating Plan and FH priorities, with awareness and care for established interim and long-range clinical and patient needs.

Central to the Vice President's role will be ability to connect with the health service areas of each hospital and the community served to champion high quality care at sites, in the communities and across the system.

Detailed Overview:


Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Vice President is a member of the Executive Team and the Clinical Operations Committee, and is jointly accountable for the attainment Fraser Health's operating strategies and priorities.

The Vice President provides Senior Executive leadership to the Patient Experience portfolio to ensure the journey through our health care system is both high quality and seamless for patients/clients/residents and their families:

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a member of the Executive Team and the Clinical Operations Committee, holding accountability to provide strategy and leadership for Fraser Health to achieve goals and outcomes of the Strategic Operating Plan, Fraser Health priorities and long range needs.
  • Oversees and ensures programs and services are designed, integrated, operated and the results measured and reported in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and attainment of outcome goals and the provision of Seamless Care. Liases with colleagues to ensure seamless integration of strategies, operations and policies. Reports on performance of clinical programs, acute care sites and broader community needs.
  • Works in partnership with members of the Executive Team, the Clinical Operations Committee and leaders across Fraser Health to lead and communicate strategies, operational plans and policies. Ensures appropriate linkage with the community served or issues related to the Community Hospitals and the Health Service Areas of each hospital and high quality care at sites, in the communities and across the system.
