The Opportunity:

The Building Operator, Level 3 is a junior level building operator responsible for operational and technical support in an office building, or portfolio of buildings in the Edmonton, AB.

This individual is responsible for installation, repair and maintenance to climate control and other mechanical systems within the complex.

The primary objective of the Building Operator, Level 3 is to ensure that the assigned building or complex of buildings is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.


What You Will Do:

  • Install, repair and maintain climate control and other mechanical systems within a building
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, roofing and life safety systems;
  • General maintenance including housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling and pressure washing;
  • Assist with environmental assessments and reporting;
  • Participate in corporate occupational health and safety program;
  • Assist with waste, recycling and hazardous materials issues;
  • Monitor of computerized control systems;
  • Respond to tenant service requests;
  • Assist with insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions and reporting;
  • Remain current and up to date with new industry practices, legislative changes and new technologies;
  • Embrace and proactively support BentallGreenOak's culture of environmental responsibility and social responsibility.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve energy consumption
  • Quickly respond to and manage environmental hazards
  • Consider sustainability when evaluating options for replacement equipment
  • Participate in tenant and staff community support events as appropriate
  • Participate in the oncall rotation which may include all buildings in the portfolio.
  • Other assigned duties.

Who you are:

Technical Qualifications:

  • The Building Operator, Level 3 shall have the following technical qualifications or industry equivalency:
  • Working towards completion of BES 1 & 2 is mandatory
  • 2 year of direct work experience holding a junior or intermediate position in building operations an asset but not a requirement
  • Working knowledge of BAS systems is a benefit
- a valid driver's license;

  • Entry level skills in Microsoft Office.
