We are currently seeking a full-time Millwright Apprentice at our 45,000 square foot production facility just off Hwy 36 in Lindsay, Ontario.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK SHIFTS ON A ROTATING BASIS/WEEKEND. MORNING SHIFTS START AT 8:00 A.M. AND AFTERNOON SHIFT TYPICALLY STARTS AT 2:30 P.M.

On Call on Weekend Rotation

DUTIES:Responsible for Mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, installation and preventative maintenance on all production equipment/machineryProvide Mechanical support and maintenance/repair for building support systems.Maintain contact and communication with Supervisor and co-workers in order to ensure and report progress.Respond to and complete service calls in an efficient manner.Maintain compliance with all regulatory codes and requirements, company policy and procedural guidelines. Remain aware of, and trained on, all technical advances within the area of responsibility.Work in a safe manner, utilizing proper tools and equipment for the task.Identifies and reports unsafe conditions / near misses and accidents in a timely mannerUtilize proper waste disposal procedures.Applies a methodical approach to problem solving/diagnosing of mechanical/electrical issues Identifies and coordinates improvements to address down time or efficiency issuesAssist and support the department in achieving and maintaining budgetary and performance goals.Installs, maintains and services compressed air, water and exhaust ducting to robotics, pumps, presses, compressors, turbines, material-handling systems, gearboxes and other machineryUses precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators and micrometersUses machine tools such as lathes and milling machines and fabrication tools such as weldersWelding skills that properly utilize various welding and cutting equipment an assetOther duties, as assignedSKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:Must be registered in an approved Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A apprenticeship program with Skilled Trades Ontario AND have passed Level 1 of in-school training OR have a minimum of 2000 hours of documented apprenticeship employment experience.Strong Mechanical AptitudeProblem solving skills and good communication skills are requiredStrong people skills - approachable, a good listener and empatheticPreviously worked in a manufacturing environment– Food manufacturing experience an assetDedicated to the health and safety of yourself and your colleaguesDigest and accept constructive feedback as an opportunity to listen and improve your skills and performanceMust be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs as neededAbility to read, write and speak English fluently.Ability to read and discern Mechanical schematics and manuals effectively.Must possess strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and time management skills.Electrical troubleshooting and repair an asset.Open to call ins and off hours work for downtime repairs
