Canada Pearson Full time

Location:
British Columbia, Canada

The GED test has opened doors to college/universities programs for more than 21 million graduates since 1942. The GED test is accepted by virtually every U.S. university and last year was delivered in more than 90 countries internationally.

As the creator of the one official GED test, GED Testing Service has a responsibility to ensure that the program continues to be a reliable and valuable pathway to a better life for the millions of learners looking to pursue higher education and training around the world.

GED Testing Service is a joint venture between the Pearson and the American Council on Education.

The GED International (GED-I) program has seen significant growth over the past five years and is quickly becoming a recognized global program that provides a higher-secondary/Grade 12 level credential, allowing students to enroll in university and other education programs.

We are experiencing very strong growth this year, and with the growing visibility and acceptance of the GED credential we anticipate an exciting period of even more growth in the years ahead.

This position is being created to further facilitate growth in program participation, the number of learners who earn a GED credential, while also helping to develop and launch new products.

The program manager (PM) will also create structures and operational processes that facilitate strong service to our partners and learners, creating strong underpinning for even further global growth.

The PM will play a vital role in shaping the GED-I program. Because of this, we are looking for someone with a mix of strong project management, analytical and communication skills. Someone who can learn quickly, fail fast and adapt.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build something new and harness their knowledge and skills to impact the lives of learners and their families.

The PM will be able to work well internally, while also able to communicate externally with key partners and international education policymakers (e.g., ministry of education staff and university staff).

This role reports to the Vice President of Global Operations & Government Relations and will collaborate daily with the International Business Development Manager and International Marketing Manager, as well as the Operations director/manager.

They will also collaborate with staff in client management, marketing, product, communications, finance and operations teams.

The role will have four areas of primary focus:

  • Program management, development and tracking
  • Growing the visibility, reputation and acceptance of the program outside of the U.S.
  • Operations and policy creation, tracking, and adjustments
  • Actively help develop new, and adjust existing, products.

The PM will work closely with the VP to manage the overall GED-I program lifecyle, including program policies, processes, products, reporting and budget.

They will regularly analyze information and reporting dashboards housed in the internal data system to help guide program decisions and policies.

The PM will help create milestones and KPIs and ensure that they are being met across the program and various projects.

Creating quarterly reports on progress that can be presented to the GEDTS President and Board.

The PM will also value the importance of customer service.

They will work closely with the GED team, education partners and test centers to track, adjust and create operations processes to effectively run the program and serve our learners.

The PM will also work closely with the GED-I team, the GEDTS product team, and potential external vendor partners to help developing new, adjust existing, and market products for the GED-I program.
