The Department of Biology in the School of Science & Technology at CBU invites applications for a Full-Time Continuing position in Biology at the rank of Lab Instructor.

This position will commence July 1, 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter).

The successful candidate will perform the duties outlined in Article in the CBU Faculty Association Collective Agreement.

Topics of focus shall include, but may not be limited to, second year Human Anatomy labs, second year Human Physiology labs for Nurses, third year Human Physiology labs, and upper level labs that focus on Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, Infectious disease, and other Health related areas.

Candidates shall, as a minimum requirement, possess a B.Sc. in Biology. An M.Sc. in Biology is preferred. Previous lab instructor experience at the post-secondary level considered an asset but not mandatory.
CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line.

The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload.

While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.

Qualified candidates should send a letter of application quoting the reference number, a complete dossier including curriculum vitae (or resume), copy of academic transcripts, a statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness, a diversity statement, a complete resume and if possible three current letters of reference.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential and commitment with regard to teaching activities and service to Cape Breton University, community and profession.
