Job Description

WHAT'S THE ROLE?

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity at our Cambridge, Ontario facility. Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our team is passionate about innovation, social impact, and advancing the construction industry. As a Carpenter Unticketed, your main responsibilities will involve constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and components of portable buildings made from various materials like wood, wood-substitutes, and steel. You'll be working Monday through Friday, exceeding 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
  • Execute jobs based on provided drawings and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials.
  • Install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
  • Provide guidance to apprentices and carpenter's helpers/labourers.
  • Utilize tools such as sawzall, skill saw, chop saw, table saw, drills, drill press, and air tools.
  • Complete daily Job Hazards Assessments and Pre-Job Task Hazard Analysis forms.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications

WHO WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant carpentry experience.
  • Knowledge of the construction/manufacturing sector is essential.
  • Proficient in operating various hand and power tools specific to the trade.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
  • Manual dexterity in hands and feet for various activities such as bending, lifting, and climbing.
