Job Description: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Developer

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Developer to join an existing team. As a GCP Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect, optimize, and maintain applications that leverage GCP services. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong programming skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering scalable and reliable solutions on the GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and design cloud solutions that align with business goals.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage applications and services on the Google Cloud Platform, utilizing various GCP services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, and more.
  • Write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code using programming languages like Python, Java, or Go.
  • Design and implement data storage solutions using GCP's storage services such as Cloud Storage, Bigtable, Firestore, and BigQuery.
  • Ensure the security, availability, and performance of cloud-based applications by implementing best practices for authentication, authorization, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to set up CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous deployment strategies.
  • Optimize application performance through load testing, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud services, application functionality, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP offerings, tools, and best practices, and recommend their adoption to improve system architecture and efficiency.
  • Document design decisions, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a software developer with a focus on designing and building cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, etc.).
  • In-depth understanding of GCP services and their use cases, including compute, storage, databases, networking, and security.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud and application issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Google Cloud certifications (Professional Cloud Developer, Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) are a strong plus.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
