Summary of Position:
Our client is seeking an Associate level architect to join their team in Vancouver. In this role, you will work closely with Vancouver's Managing Principal and leadership team to develop business in Vancouver with focused business development efforts, new projects, profitable project management, and project delivery. This role is one with a growth track to Principal, and you will receive mentorship from the current managing Principal to grow to that level.

Role Responsibilities:

Partner with the Vancouver leadership team to land and deliver projects in an efficient and timely mannerBack up the Managing Principal in their duties and support in weekly staffing, time/leave approvals, annual and probationary reviews, participate in monthly PPMs, general office managementPersonally lead client pursuits and regional projectsProvide specific guidance, critique and insight for design activitiesManage key projects and ensure profitable project delivery; manage project financial performanceDevelop innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetically appealing, and meet functional goals within the project budget; provide design directionOversee project teams, providing guidance from vision through design implementation; ensure design intent is graphically presented to clients in a clear and compelling wayKeep up-to-date on design trends as well as new technologyBe an ethical role model and mentor; motivate others and effectively coach staff

Qualifications:

10+ years of progressive experience, locallyBachelor or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized UniversityRegistered Architect with British ColumbiaProfessional portfolio demonstrating strong design, problem-solving and leadership abilities on a variety of building typologiesProven track record in business development in the lower mainland, with experience bringing new clients onboardExperience working in a multi-office company with ability to partner with other principals and associates in different regionsConfident in decision-making, accepting responsibility and assuming authority in a leadership roleProven track record of profitable on-time project deliveryAbility to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environmentExcellent rapport and reputation within the local marketStrong ability to motivate and mentor teams, resulting in higher levels of professional achievement for all LEED Accredited Professional designation is an asset
