Job Summary:

The Therapeutics(Tx)


Accelerator Managerwill be located in Montreal and support innovators and entrepreneurs to grow sustainable life science companies, and develop new therapeutics in Canada.- Our National Accelerator Program brings together early-stage ventures to achieve essential milestones for successful development and commercialization of therapeutics in Canada.

The Accelerator Program offers a range of integrated services from scientific and regulatory guidance, through coaching in business development and IP to access to wet lab and office space.- Under the supervision of the Senior Director, National Accelerator and Strategic Initiatives, the Manager will support the Tx Accelerator and resident venture companies (startups) in their daily operational needs, business planning and budgetary reviews.- This role is pivotal to ensuring all participating ventures of the Tx Accelerator successfully attain key inflection points in their journey towards growth, such as reaching critical development and regulatory milestones and/or securing Seed or Series A investments.

- Position Location:
Montreal, up to 20% travel to Vancouver and Toronto

Responsibilities:

VENTURES SUPPORT- Support venture recruitment and onboarding of new ventures in the Tx Accelerator.

  • Manage services offered by the Tx Accelerator to ventures.
  • Engage internal and external experts, and adequately schedule touchpoints with startups.
  • Create milestone driven business plans.
  • Prepare budgetary progress reports.
  • Identify nondilutive and dilutive funding opportunities for resident ventures.


PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT- Curates national and international landscape of accelerators, life science ventures and financing partners to inform strategy applicable to the Tx Accelerator.


  • Identify and manage partnerships relevant to the Tx Accelerator operations.
  • Onboard ecosystem partners to augment the Tx Accelerator offerings to ventures.


ECOSYSTEM DEVELOPMENT AND EVENTS- Plan internal and external events (e.g., training, speakers, conferences for the Tx Accelerator and broader ecosystem participants).


  • Support venture promotion, branding and communication.
  • Attend industry events and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective relationships with the Tx Accelerator sites in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in biotech, venture capital or life sciences industry sector.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.
D. in life sciences or a related area; MBA is an asset.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken French language is a must.
  • Knowledge of earlystage corporate structure, scaleup and fundraising.
  • Knowhow in building productive connections with industry, founders and investors.
  • Proven ability to network and build trust relationships.
  • Costumer service oriented.
  • Selfstarter/selfmotivated, quick learner, highly organized.
  • Must be able to work independently, ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly driven to support outstanding science and ventures.
  • Effective in relationship building and developing networks.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ambition to help grow companies.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and experience in project management.
