Job Summary_

We are looking for a dynamic individual with exceptional customer service and technical skills.

The HydroVac Operator is accountable for operating and maintaining machinery and will provide essential support to our drill and underground construction crews by ensuring daylights of other underground infrastructure are completed so that our crews may safely work in the area.

Responsibilities will include:_

  • Provide hydrovac services to our drill crews and support network builds
  • Set up and break down equipment, operate high pressure wand and vacuum system
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure Hydro Vac is clean and operating properl
  • Maintain a positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional, and courteous manner
  • Ability to operate equipment independently and safely
  • Must be able to follow direction and work both independently and as part of a team in all weather conditions
  • Dump excavated material and fill water tanks daily
  • Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving of loads and conduct in response to hand or audio signals from team members
  • Interpret stakes and signage on the land
  • Ensure all reporting requirement are fulfilled
  • Work under stress and with commitment to timelines and deadlines on a daily basis
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Adherence to Health & Safety standards
  • Participate in various Team Meetings (Project Launch, Mid-Project, Project Debriefing, etc.)
  • Other duties as required
  • Report to and from our head office in Acton, Ontario daily

Qualifications_

  • Must have at least 1 year of previous experience operating a HydroVac
  • Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset
  • Must have and maintain a valid DZ or AZ driver's license
  • Must be able to operate a 12 speed manual transmission
  • Must have and maintain a clean driver's abstract and CVOR
  • Must be punctual and reliable to meet work schedule needs
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds) and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
  • Book 7 understanding or certification
  • Interpretation of plans, diagrams, and locates is an asset
  • Knowledge of fibre and conduit Installation is an asset
  • Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team
  • English proficiency written and oral

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$28.00-$32.00 per hour
