Overview:
Safety is the number one priority and you will need to follow group policies and promote safe working practices.

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will maintain operations of the pit on a day-to-day basis.

Reporting to the Aggregates Production Lead Hand, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to inspect, maintain and operate a wheel loader, excavator, dozer, skid steer, roller, and water truck, will be required to assist with labour and servicing activities as a part of the construction group.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment
  • Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist
  • Responsible for maintaining and inspecting equipment to ensure good working order and document conditions found prior to shift operation.
  • Monitor material production within specifications
  • Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork
  • Seek out and implement Best Practices
  • Operating Heavy equipment to install Aggregate materials and Dirt including but not limit to:
  • Rollers
  • Excavators
  • Skid Steers
  • Dozers
  • Graders
  • Water trucks (3A license)
  • Daily inspections and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

Daily Work Details

  • Work locations are in and around Saskatoon and will vary during the construction season
  • Start dates vary depending on spring conditions and work usually concludes in midNovember.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience
  • Able to work well with others
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Good judgement skills in highpressure situations
  • Experience with Topcon and Trimble positioning systems
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 3A license required to run certain equipment
  • Able to work in a fastpaced, highproduction environment
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
