Multy Home LP is a leading global manufacturer of floor covering and outdoor living products. With manufacturing and distribution facilities in Canada, Poland and the U.S.A. We are committed to sourcing sustainable or recycled material wherever possible in our production. Every year, Multy Home diverts 3 million tires and 15 million water bottles from landfill. We create beautiful, eco-friendly, useful products for homes and gardens everywhere.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will lead the design, implementation, execution and ongoing improvement of the organization wide quality system and continuous improvement activities. This role will also own and lead all quality compliance audit activities required by customers as related to Multy Home and 3rd party vendors as manufacturing sites. The primary work location is in our Concord, Ontario facility.

General Responsibilities:

  • Execute the overall strategy, objectives, and long-term goals of an integrated quality function.
  • Define, implement, and lead an overall end to end corporate quality management system that meets Multy Home and our customers' requirements. This includes management policy and review, design review, vendor and material selection and testing, manufacturing and distribution process controls finished goods inspection, returns management, employee training, and corrective and preventive action.
  • Lead the resolution of quality issues, including liaising with subject matter experts, vendors and internally.
  • Champion and promote a culture of quality assurance & continuous improvement.
  • Interpret, recommend, and execute modifications to strategies and policies related to quality performance.
  • Identify, plan, lead and coordinate continuous improvement activities (i.e. cost and customer service). Train on quality tools as needed.
  • Build a comprehensive set of quality assurance metrics for the organization and a multi-year plan to improve from current state.

Inbound Quality Assurance

  • Visit internal and 3rd party factories frequently (up to weekly) to sample products, audit, and ensure the quality system is producing conforming product.
  • Responsible for the overall supply chain quality and performance.
  • Create & implement a "quality at source" program with 3rd party vendors.
  • Create & implement an inbound quality surveillance program to validate quality at source requirements.

Outbound Quality Assurance

  • Use customer feedback, complaints, and performance data to develop and implement containment activities for known issues.
  • Analyze customer data and outbound surveillance findings to inform effectiveness of upstream quality assurance programs.
  • Lead the execution of internal and customer quality audits at company and third-party manufacturers.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and acts as a liaison with customers to understand and improve company quality performance and partnerships.
  • Coordinate and assist with other customer compliance programs (i.e. claims for recycling, social compliance, environmental, etc..).
  • Manage customer sites and portals related to quality assurance and compliance programs.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5 years' practical experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred).
  • Post education is required, preferably in technical discipline such as Engineering, Technology, Quality Assurance, or Statistics. (other relevant education and experiences will be considered)
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement accomplishments (Lean Six Sigma certification will be considered an asset).
  • Proven track record of quality system implementation experience (ISO, QS, TS preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience as an internal quality systems auditor is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proven organization and time management skills as demonstrated through previous work and/or educational experience.

Language & Communication Skills:

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
  • French language skills are an asset.

Physical Working Environment:

Manufacturing Plant; around machinery, equipment, and shop floor.

Technical Skills:

  • Enthusiasm for acquiring new skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and team communication skills
  • Strict attention to detail (following procedures, documentation, equipment usage)
  • Comfort working in an ethnically diverse working environment.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and projects at once.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and mechanical curiosity
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (emphasis on Excel).
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite and/or any advanced ERP.

Other Qualifications:

  • Up to 50% local travel within GTA to vendor & manufacturing sites.
  • Up to 25% overnight travel to manufacturing & customer sites in Canada & USA.
