POSITION:
UNIT CLERK II - OR/ Maternal/Child /Patient Registration/SPAC_

  • Primarily Stratford Site_

Regular Part-Time
- ***:_As the primary contact person in the Maternal Child/OR Departments the Unit Clerk II coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with the patients, visitors and healthcare professions. In addition, the Unit Clerk II contributes to the efficient function of the Unit primarily through effective clerical and communication activities while maintaining confidentiality of patient information._

SALARY:_ _$25.89 to $27.48 per hour_
QUALIFICATIONS:_

  • Minimum Grade 12 Education_
  • Two year Medical Office Administration Diploma_

EXPERISENCE:_

  • One year of recent experience in a healthcare setting_
  • Previous experience in a Registration Department preferred_
  • Previous experience with Novari Software an asset_
  • Previous experience with payroll data entry an asset_

SKILLS/ABILITIES:_

  • Excellent time management, communication and multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize workload_
  • Effective interpersonal and exceptional communication and organizational skills in dealing with patients, families and all levels of staff are essential_
  • Ability to work sidebyside with other members of the healthcare team and interact professionally with peers, patients and other departments_
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position_
  • Responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records, transcribing and processing physician orders, etc._
