Role overview We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in building scalable high-quality and high-performance digital solutions within the Property & Casualty Insurance domain. With a focus on innovation and efficiency the ideal candidate will contribute to the development and enhancement of our insurance products leveraging advanced technologies to meet our business objectives and deliver exceptional value to our clients. What you'll do
    • Must have 5-10 years of experience in Java,Vue JS front end software development with proficiency in technologies such as Spring Boot, Apigee, Confluent / Kafka, Liquibase, Docker / Istio / Rancher / Kubernetes. Java programming language, SQL. RESTful and SOAP web services.
    • Lead the development and implementation of scalable software solutions using Java Spring Boot and Microservices.
    • Design and optimize databases with MySQL and SQL for high-performance and security.
    • Develop dynamic and responsive user interfaces using JavaScript and Vue JS.
    • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate various software components.
    • Ensure the deployment of applications on AWS demonstrating cloud capabilities for scalability and reliability.
    • Apply standard processes in software development with a focus on Spring MVC for web applications.
    • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle from concept to deployment and maintenance.
    • Analyze and improve the efficiency scalability and stability of various system resources.
    • Work closely with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
    • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate into software projects.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
    • Ensure compliance with project timelines and results.
What you bring to the role
  • Must have a solid foundation in Java Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies specifically JavaScript and Vue JS is required.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services is essential for deployment and management of applications.
  • Knowledge of SQL and MySQL for database management and optimization is necessary.
  • Prior experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain is mandatory demonstrating an understanding of industry challenges and solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment are crucial.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are required to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams.
Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a balanced work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
