POSITION OVERVIEW

The Role
The Construction Project Manager's role is primarily to manage assigned project(s) from start to finish.

Reporting to the Senior Construction Project Manager working closely with the Site Supervisor(s) and the Senior Site Supervisor to make sure all work is complete, and any deficiencies are identified and tracked until rectified in Procore.

Are accountable for making sure that materials procured for use in the project meet the quality standard, specifications and submittals as specified.


Accountabilities

  • Ensure the work is in compliance with the Contract Documents
  • Work with the Site Supervisor(s) to scheduling inspections and ensure that corrections are made
  • Assist in Safety Management of the Site Team and conformance with DBS general requirements
  • Ensure Materials are Stored, safety and released to trades as needed
  • Work with the Quality Control Personell and Construction Project Coordinator to ensure Quality Control
  • Ensure all documents and records are recorded correctly
  • Ensure RFI's and project correspondence are tracked and identified in a timely fashion
  • Ensure subtrades have been secured and arranged to be onsite

Responsibilities

  • Update and communicate Project Schedule with input from Site Supervisor(s) and Senior Construction Project Manager
  • Monitor cost, engage procurement to issue Tenders, Review Contracts, Review Invoices, Review Change Orders
  • Submittal Reviews of Shop Drawings, Product Specifications, Product Substitutions, Etc.
  • Working with Construction Management Team to arrange for civil connections and requirements
  • Generate, track and manage Construction Work Packages through Action Plans in Procore
  • Work with the Site Supervisor(s) to generate Site Installation work packages and ensure access, materials and tools are available for the work.
  • Close Out
  • Working with Property Manager/Owners for first 3 months
  • Ensuring Project punch list is completed within 30 days of project turn over
  • Preparation of property handover package with Senior Construction Project Manager
  • Lessons Learned
  • Tracking lessons learned
  • Organizing and meeting with key players at end of projects

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in management of construction projects (Site Supervision, Etc.)
  • PMP and/or Professional Engineering designation an asset
  • Postsecondary education an asset
  • Gold Seal certification an asset
  • Red Seal certification an asset

Competencies

  • Organization skills while maintaining confidentiality
  • Time Management with good planning, prioritization, and execution
  • Problem Solving with an understanding of managing schedule, costs, and quality
  • Attention to Details in reading building specification and understanding and interpreting drawings
  • Excellent Communicator to ensure a safe and costeffective project execution
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project
