URGENT NEED IN PETERBOROUGH
Now hiring human ABI Rehab Support Worker, no AI need apply.


ABI Rehabilitation Support Workers needed part time to support male client with ABI living in their own home, as well as throughout the Peterborough communitiy.

No personal care is required.

This role would be best for someone who is friendly, reliable, patient, with a good sense of humour.

Time spent with our client will include chats, playing computer and card games, neighbourhood walks, movies, meal preparation, assisting client with some household tasks e.g.

cooking, laundry, etc.

Please note that _
this is not a clinic-based rehabilitation position_._

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Focus on preparation for independent living in the community; e.g. cooking, budgeting, community participation.
  • Engage with client in researching areas of interest and opportunities in the community.
  • Protect and promote the welfare, dignity, and individual rights of the individual.
  • Encourage, support, and enable participation and independence.
  • Drive client to appointments and attend where appropriate e.g. doctors, dentists, therapists.

Requirements:

  • Community support experience.
  • Must have a valid full G Driver's License with reliable vehicle to travel with our client throughout the community.
  • Must be comfortable supporting client in men's washroom/change room.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 1
  • Be flexible, have strong communication skills, and possess a willingness to learn ongoing training provided.
