Rypac Metal Recycling is currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Scrap Yard Attendant.

As a Scrap Yard Attendant, you will be responsible for grading and processing scrap metal, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining yard cleanliness.

This is a full-time position based out of our Surrey location. Prior experience in the scrap metal industry is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

Ability for Physical Work
  • This is a physically demanding job and applicants must be able to frequently walk on uneven ground, handle and grasp materials, crouch, bend, reach, climb, twist, push, pull and lift/carry up to 50 pounds

  • We operate an outdoor scrap yard and applicants must be comfortable working outside in all types of weather.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and grade various types of metal.
  • Process metal as it is received and ensure that all material is properly packaged and stored in the correct location
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and vendors; greet customers as they enter the yard and assist them with unloading their material
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Assist with inventory management and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
