Position Overview:


The primary responsibility of the Sales Counter Associate is to assist all sales functions in a professional manner by providing prompt & efficient service to achieve maximum sales and customer satisfaction.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers by developing a professional relationship with them.
  • Assess customer needs and provide expert advice on any products.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, store associates and management to exceed all client sales and service expectations.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude with team members, customers, store associates and managers while performing work.
  • Follow up on orders and answer calls.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and company standards.
  • Record and complete transactions with sales orders.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Extensive knowledge of doors, moulding and finishing materials

  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills with customers, employees, and management to exceed sales and service expectations.
  • Enjoy working with people.
  • Positive attitude and proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Analytical and have excellent problemsolving skills, with above average math skills and attention to detail a must.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to operational needs and deadlines.
  • Work in a setting with a high sense of urgency and drive; able to set priorities and deliver results within deadlines and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Autonomous and dependable, while working in a team and contributing to the overall company goals.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Flexibility with schedule with the ability to work Saturdays and able to work overtime when needed.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and/or sit for an hour, or more, at a time.
  • Availability of hours Monday through Saturday, during store hours.
  • Ability to lift items weighing 3 lbs. to 20 lbs.
