Key Responsibilities:

General:

  • Support the operations, corporate executive, project execution and business development functions in developing and maintaining financial forecasts, budgets, business plans and in the analysis and implementation of business improvement projects.

Support Operations:

  • Maintain operational asset models for various renewable energy technologies, including forecasting revenue, costs, capital expenditures and asset distributions.
  • Work closely with senior management and plant managers in the business planning and forecasting processes for operational assets.
  • Support senior management and plant managers in interpreting financial and operating implications of key project agreements (including PPA's, O&M agreements, MSA's).

Support Corporate Finance:

  • Support the corporate financial model and the integration of the company's asset financial models, which together form the consolidated corporate financial model used to evaluate and enhance decisions at the executive and Board level.
  • Work closely with senior management in the business planning and forecasting processes for corporate.
  • Participate in and support corporate and project financing transactions, from origination through execution with responsibilities which include the ownership of financial models and assistance in due diligence, structuring and negotiations.
  • Support specific corporate treasury initiatives including interest rate and FX hedging, debt covenant forecasting and compliance, liquidity forecasting and tax structuring.
  • Assist in the creation of specific financial models used to support treasury initiatives and asset management.

Support Business Development and Growth Opportunities:

  • Assist with the design and creation of individualized financial models used to evaluate the merits of prospective renewable energy projects.
  • Participate in special projects, providing analytical support to the team for business decisions (ex. modelling revenue streams in different markets).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/business/commerce; pursuit of CFA designation considered an asset.
  • Corporate and/or project finance professional with 13 years of experience[CI2].
  • Experience with financial models, budgeting/forecasting and analysis is an asset.
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills and the ability to create, manage and analyze complex financial models.
  • Superior quantitative skills with a strong interest in performing financial analysis, including forecasting and valuation.
  • Experience with a Bloomberg terminal is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills and effective presentation and reporting abilities.
  • Flexible problem solver with the ability to work independently and quickly learn new concepts/processes.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Friendly, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with colleagues, advisors and the general public.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information.
