We are currently searching for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Museum Janitor at Burnaby Village Museum. Our visitors, spanning all age groups, rely on you to maintain a spotless, clean, and pleasant environment. This role is ideal for hands-on individuals with strong integrity who take pride in their work.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweeping, mopping, waxing, polishing, vacuuming, and dusting floors, furniture, and windows
  • Performing minor repair and maintenance work on buildings, equipment, and facilities
  • Locking and unlocking doors
  • Attending to museum facilities during assigned hours
  • Preparing simple reports related to the work
  • Performing any related duties as necessary

Qualifications:
  • High school graduation or equivalent with some experience in janitorial or custodial work
  • Good knowledge of standard janitorial methods, materials, and equipment
  • Familiarity with regulations and procedures governing facility operations
  • Ability to perform light manual work and follow oral instructions
  • Customer service skills and ability to use various tools

Requirements:
  • Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia

Pay Rate: $27.30 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
Hours of Work: Dependent on operational needs, shifts vary and are scheduled as required. Looking for individuals available to work 3 days a week, including weekends, with the possibility of up to 5 days during peak seasons. Shifts typically range from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM in summer and 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM in fall and winter.
