The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in charge of Home Care Services, Personal Care Home, and/or Transitional Care applies the nursing process to assist clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimal health level within a people-centered approach in various healthcare settings. The RN/RPN operates within their full scope of practice, engages in continuous education, and upholds competency according to Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba, Code of Ethics, and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

The individual must demonstrate the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment to set work priorities, determine work methods, and address unusual situations. This role aligns with the organization's mission, vision, values, and policies.

Qualifications

  • Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba/College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for various healthcare settings
  • Understanding of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Ability to cultivate a collaborative interdisciplinary environment to enhance service quality, staff empowerment, and continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and contributing to program enhancements
  • Capability to lead and make autonomous decisions
  • Excellent organizational skills and adaptability to meet job demands
  • Respect and promotion of cultural diversity is vital given the region's demographics
  • Proficiency in both official languages for bilingual positions
  • Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the role
  • Adherence to confidentiality protocols across all formats
  • Consistent and reliable work attendance
