Job Description - Warehouse Worker/Technician

Basic Job Description


Complete activities related to processing orders - this includes but is not limited to picking parts, assembling manual & electric hoists, and preparing orders for transportation.

The individual will also be responsible for warehouse activities such as unloading, sorting & putting away inventory.

Reports to:
Production Supervisor

Primary Duties

  • Mechanical assembly of manual and powered hoist products
  • Operate forklift
  • Pick parts for parts orders
  • Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
  • Inspect shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipment
  • Pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping
  • Adhere to production policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures
  • Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and complete appropriate documentation as required
  • Maintain production and warehouse areas using Lean and 5S principles
  • Complete incident reports in relation to health and safety issues
  • Update and maintain relevant data systems (ERP, Kanban Boards, etc.)
  • Recording and reporting nonconformances between parts, assemblies, sales orders, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse organization

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Business Central preferred, but not required.
  • A clean driving record is desirable. Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience with 5S and lean manufacturing an asset
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude would be an asset
  • Strong communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds required on a routine basis.
  • Ability to take direction and follow preestablished guidelines
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to work alone with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Working Conditions

  • Work will be of a physical nature inside a warehouse
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours may fluctuate on business volume and some overtime may be required from time to time.
  • Steel toe boots must be worn at all times when in the warehouse.

Salary:
$21.64-$24.04 per hour
