  • Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems
  • Log patient samples and prepare them for testing
  • Prescribe treatment such as eye exercises or patching regimens
  • Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them
  • Advise patients on health care
  • Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team and plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care
  • Examine patients and take their medical histories and consult with physicians and other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
  • Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories
  • Provide health maintenance education
  • Identify additional/alternative services and provide referrals
