The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the completion of assessments, providing consultation to schools, providing individual and group screening, and supporting capacity building in staff.

The performance of the duties will ensure a quality service approach for the students and families in BWDSB.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will support the vision, mission, and priorities of Bluewater District School Board, while contributing to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment.


Commencing:
Immediately

Permanent full-time: 1.0 FTE Permanent ( up to full time hours with flexibility to offer part time hours)
Provide individual or group screening to identify students at risk or who need further speech and language assessment
Complete speech-language pathology assessments and consultations
Advocate on behalf of students to support their academic success while at school
Participate in collaborative planning meetings with BWDSB staff and community partners to facilitate appropriate referrals that will meet student identified needs
Provide clear, concise, and accurate documentation, protecting privacy and confidentiality, as per the standards and regulations established by CASLPO, and adhering to the associated policies and procedures of BWDSB
Masters in Speech Pathology with experience and demonstrated skills in an education setting.
A member in good standing with CASLPO (College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario).

Excellent Interpersonal skills that will help to build strong relationships with students, educators, and community service partners
Experience and expertise delivering and creating speech and language programming for students
Ability to effectively navigate policies/procedures and advocate for change where needed
Ability to interpret and collect data to inform implementation and evaluation of programs and services
Knowledgeable in Microsoft applications
Valid Ontario Class Driver's license, use of a vehicle and willingness to work all regions of Bluewater District School Board (Grey Bruce)
