About our Destination Development & Marketing Group


The Destination Development & Marketing Group is focused on driving sustainable year-round visitation through program and initiatives that positively impact Edmonton's image and awareness in regional and international markets.

More specifically on the destination development side, we help develop and showcase the amazing tourism experiences Edmonton has to offer visitors.

We work closely with local businesses, ground operators, attractions, experience providers and festivals to help develop products and experiences that are authentic to Edmonton.


About the Position:


The Global Marketing team is looking for a Graphic Design Specialist to join the team Reporting to the Manager, Brand Marketing, this position is responsible for the graphic design needs of Explore Edmonton Corporation including the Edmonton EXPO Centre, Edmonton Convention Centre, K-Days, Farmfair International, Edmonton Pro Rodeo, Urban Farm, and Festival City Parade.

This includes the creative elements and design of both internal and external facing branded documents and campaign collateral. This position will also assist with general projects that come in from the Explore Edmonton team. Editing and effectively managing multiple projects at once is a key requirement.

  • Translating creative briefs into effective visual communications using strategy and available research
  • Creating engaging and creative graphics to visually represent Explore Edmonton and the organization's family of brands (ECC, EXPO, K-Days, Farmfair International, Edmonton Pro Rodeo, Urban Farm, Festival City Parade)
  • Presenting and articulating designs to Brand Manager and EEC business units for feedback
  • Working collaboratively with the Brand Manager to ensure business units have all their brand and design needs met
  • Prioritizing and executing on multiple project requests
  • Brainstorming and developing creative ideas to further global marketing/brand and design KPIs and goals
  • Supporting Brand Manager with a wide array of projects. This may include writing, research, or campaign brainstorming.
  • Helping the Brand & Design team fulfill project requests and monitors deadlines.
  • Budget collaboration, metric benchmarking, and support business planning
  • Other duties as required.
  • Postsecondary education in graphic design or visual communications preferred
  • 12 Years in graphic design role, agency or inhouse
  • Passion for travel and the tourism industry
  • Excellent people and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Creative mind and ability to truly understand a brand essence
  • Strong design skills with a history of keeping clients happy
  • Ability to multitask, think outside the box and solution driven
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate for solutions
  • Familiarity with Adobe suite of software
  • Digital illustration an asset
