VCC Patrollers

Iconic Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) is currently seeking motivated, customer-service oriented individuals to join our team.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Ensure the interior and exterior of the Facility is secureIdentify and report any unusual activity or persons in and around the Facility including VCC West retail tenants (exterior), seawall, and Jack Poole Plaza (this includes fire, theft, vandalism, trespassers and accidentsIdentify and report Facility damageProvide access and escort for Clients, Official and Unofficial Suppliers, and Contractors through Facility spaces as requiredProvide building lockdown and crowd control during facility related protests as requiredMonitoring for goods left unattendedCheck all electrical, mechanical, communication rooms, central plant and sewage treatment plant at minimum once per shift during day and swing shift and twice per shift during graveyard – report anything out of the ordinary (water/oil leaks, smoke etc)Unlock and lock retail washrooms per scheduleCooperate with and assist in the investigation of incidentsAct as floor warden during emergency situations

COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrates effective communication skills including ability to follow instructions and provide clear directionsProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as well the ability to work effectively in a team environmentAble to walk for long periods of timeStrong customer service skills and ability to maintain a friendly, professional and courteous demeanor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid BC Security LicenseMust have high school and or post-secondary educationKnowledge of a two-way radio is an asset

Payrate: $17/hr
