Canadian Accounting Consultants has been retained by an innovative healthcare provider to recruit for their next CFO. Based in Mississauga, this employer plays a pivotal role in the healthcare sector in Ontario by providing the resources and workforce solutions to support both private and public care facilities.

The employer is a well-established Canadian success story, currently building its team by looking for a competent and high performing Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a proven track record of financial management, strategic planning, and business development. Best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a proven business acumen in anticipating market trends, identifying opportunities, and mitigating risks. This is a key role in establishing relationships with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and an ability to influence collaboratively while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key responsibilities and oversight:


• Oversee all aspects of financial management including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, taxation and treasury operations


• Drive continuous improvement in financial process, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability


• Lead strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, expansion opportunities, due diligence for key decision making


• Spearhead digital transformation initiatives within the finance function, leveraging emerging technologies


• Oversee and direct all payroll operations, compliance, and timeliness in processing


• Foster a healthy environment of teamwork and collaboration


• Manage internal and external relationships including shareholders, partnerships, financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and transparency

The successful candidate will possess the following:


• Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA)


• 10+ years of experience including public accounting and industry experience


• Strong financial acumen and problem-solving skills in building and developing


• Track record of initiating and driving change, a curious mindset, and ownership of multiple deliverables, executing and leading teams and processes.


• Passion for process and continuous improvement to support various initiatives


• Currently in a leadership role with extensive people management experience
