Tri-Core Projects Ltd. is a Manitoba-based general contractor and construction company. Our operations include demolition, site preparation, excavation, underground service installation remediation services, telecom, and special projects.


We are looking for a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician that is a 3^rd or 4^th level registered apprentice or a registered red seal heavy-duty journeyperson that can diagnose, troubleshoot, assemble, service, repair, and maintain heavy duty equipment.

This includes any mobile equipment and attachments used to construct buildings, roads, or highways.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Check all heavy construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
  • Service and repair various attachments and working tools such as hydro axe, wrist buckets, winches.
  • Need to perform repair and maintenance work directional drills, semi-trucks, and trailers.
  • May attach components and make adjustment to new and used equipment.
  • Perform general shop duties sweeping floors, washing, and cleaning equipment, removing garbage.
  • May be expected to travel out-of-town for extended periods of time.
  • Assist Technicians in conducting preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Create and complete equipment work orders with detailed repair information in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience in heavy duty repairs and maintenance
  • Strong work ethic and be consistently punctual
  • Able to work longer days as required
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a strong initiative in the position
  • Ability to communicate effectively with crew members including the written and spoken word.
  • Able to multi-task and oversee multiple concurrent work orders
  • Class 5, preferred Class 3 with Airbrakes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites
