Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian works as a member of the Health Care Team to provide their professional expertise to maintain and facilitate client well-being. The Clinical Dietitian functions in a teaching role with new diabetics and follows the patient as required. He/she acts as a resource to members of the Health Care Team and Community to provide and promote nutritional knowledge.

Qualifications


•Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario

•CDE certification an asset

•Clinical experience in a hospital outpatient setting

•Clinical teaching experience required

•Experience with insulin pumps an asset

•Experience with behaviour change strategies

•Experience with individual counselling

•Experience group education sessions using various learning techniques

•Courses in adult education and self-management an asset

•Experience in clinical research is an asset

•Must possess own car, a current Ontario Driver's License and a clean driving abstract

•Ability to travel to outreach clinics

•Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal

•Demonstrated problem assessment skills

•Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork

•Demonstrated individual leadership skills
