GFL Environmental is in search of a 310 T Licensed Mechanic to join the team at the Blind River and Espanola operations. As a GFL Mechanic, you will work independently, following written instructions and established procedures to complete assigned tasks.
You will conduct preventive maintenance services, inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles and equipment.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Executes repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance services.
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes for repairs.
- Estimates costs of parts and repair duration for vehicles, and requests new parts.
- Adheres to Standard Repair Times (SRTs) for all tasks.
- Responds to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conducts safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains a neat and safe work environment in line with Corporate and OSHA standards.
- Follows established safety protocols for all work.
**Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:**
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required, along with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in automotive/truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair, or completion of an accredited vocational technical school program.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Proficient in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Knowledge of fuel, ignition, cooling, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems.
- Familiarity with safety procedures for operating or repairing vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to communicate repair needs effectively.
- Ability to diagnose and repair various equipment and vehicles.
- Capability to perform mechanical repairs on equipment and vehicles of varying complexity.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems and ability to interpret hydraulic schematics.
- Competency in reading and understanding service and technical information.
- Proficiency in utilizing fleet maintenance software programs.
- Familiarity with Total Tire Maintenance programs.
- Ability to document repairs accurately and complete associated paperwork efficiently.
