Reporting to the Forman, the Pipelayer Helper is responsible for providing physical labor support to the pipelayer during all phases of construction and production.


General Responsibilities:
Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite.

Execute traffic control plans by placing, removing, covering, and uncovering traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices.

Direct traffic when necessary.
Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
Using a rake or shovel, spread gravel and other construction materials for padding or setting concrete structures.
Shoveling test holes by locating markers/flags and quarantining any exposed pipes. Mark test holes with stakes, paint, or ribbon.
Ensure the worksite is organized and free of clutter, rubble, and garbage.
Shovel around live utilities to expose them without damaging them.
Operate equipment, such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers.
Other construction and general labor related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
Class 5 driver's license.
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 40 LBS on a regular basis.

The job requires being located in Grande Prairie for the season; this is not a fly-in or fly-out position.
