Reporting to the Manager, Wellness, you will provide expert advice, training and guidance to departments concerning return-to-work initiatives, Worker's Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC), and Human Rights legislation.

This position contributes to developing and maintaining positive workplace relationships in the Government of Nunavut (GN) in accordance with legal obligations, Collective Agreements, WSCC, Human Rights Act and Inuit Values.

You will be the liaison with physicians on treatment, return-to-work and modification/accommodation plans.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the GN's employee-related disability and return-to
- work/accommodation process which includes sick leave, long-term disability, medical terminations, and Workplace Safety and Insurance claims. You will be a key facilitator and resource for managers, employees, and HR team members to support a timely and successful transition from a disability-related leave back into the workplace. You will also complete briefing materials, and develop executive summaries, reports, assessments, or memos on all return-to-work, medical termination or accommodation issues as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a health-related field (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Health), along with two (2) years of experience in disability management or return
- to-work, preferably in a unionized or public service environment.


In accordance with the Government of Nunavut's Remote Hiring Policy, this position is being advertised in the home community or is eligible for remote work.


Compensation & benefits:
This indeterminate position offers a salary range of $100,780 per year (for 37.5

hours/week), plus a Northern Allowance of $16,008 per year.
