AECOM Buildings + Places, the architectural division of AECOM, is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Pickering. This role offers hybrid work options.

The Buildings and Places Team is a dynamic and expanding business segment that provides engineering, architectural, project management, planning, and economic analysis services for vertical construction projects.

  • Work on diverse projects such as commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, water/wastewater, and transit facilities
  • Create various reports including schematic design, design development, building assessment, and design build/assist scope of work documents
  • Prepare electrical drawings and specifications
  • Implement design concepts through detailed drawings covering lighting, power, fire alarm, and specialty low voltage systems
  • Offer technical and administrative support throughout all project phases
  • Conduct necessary research to gather industry and project-specific data
  • Collaborate with consultants and contractors, responding to technical inquiries
  • Attend site meetings and reviews, providing detailed reports
  • Review shop drawings and progress billing
  • Manage tight schedules, project budgets, and motivate staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum six years of experience in the building engineering industry
  • Preferably, ten years of experience with a focus on electrical design for transportation-related buildings
  • Knowledge of electrical load calculations and lighting design
  • Experience in designing electrical power and lighting systems
  • Proficiency in power analysis tools such as SKM and/or ETAP
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Some Project Management experience desired
  • Position does not offer relocation
