To fuel our growth, Simem Underground Solutions (SUG) seeks a motivated, passionate, goal oriented, technical professional to support our business development activities


If you are a technical professional with a desire to work as a business development representative and have experience with engineered equipment solutions to produce concrete, shotcrete, grout, or backfill material (or similar), this position is for you.


The Technical Proposal Specialist position will focus on the creation, compiling, and organization of response documentation required for proposal submittals.

You will work in a team oriented, solutions based selling environment, live within commuting distance of the SUG office and be able to work remotely from home if needed.

No relocation packages are offered for this position. An ability to travel abroad is preferred.


This position will proactively identify ways to improve and streamline our technical proposal response protocol, create standard response documents to support routine requests for proposals (RFP), contact relevant client personnel to ensure proposal request are clearly understood, collaborate and participate in procurement activities related to a proposal scope, while developing relationships with client and industry associates to ensure repeat opportunities.

SUG specializes in the design and engineering of cemented aggregate backfill and paste fill plants, shotcrete, slurry and bi-component grout plants, long distance pumping systems, and fully automated material handling solutions.


Based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Simem Underground is a global equipment and machinery supplier to the mining, tunnelling, infrastructure and heavy construction sectors.

INDUSTRY RELATED COMPETENCIES_

MINING INDUSTRY / TUNNELLING INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Engineering aptitude
  • Knowledge of bulk material handling systems is a plus
  • Ability to do preliminary calculations for equipment sizing, flow diagrams, mass balances, etc.
  • General understanding of equipment and operation (mechanical, electrical, automation)
  • CAD and 3D modeling interpretation
  • Experience working and communicating with consultants

SALES BID PROCESS

  • Liaise with consultants and clients to ensure SIMEM is ontime with proposal responses
  • Ability to work cooperatively and in a timely manner with mining consultants on equipment studies
  • Ability to understand and interpret RFQ/RFP bid requests for response
  • Prepare bid documents in a clear, concise, and professional manner to showcase SIMEM experience and product advantage

WORK EXPERIENCE_

  • Global B2B experience is a plus.
